I have asked my father and my aunts for over 20 years to let me "borrow" their record collection. Collectively they have music from the 50's, 60's,70's and some 80's.
I have successfully borrowed some of my fathers wax (He made it clear the "reel to reel' is out of the question – LOL)
Recently there was a box that arrived at my door that to my surprise had hundreds of 45's.
Because there is so much music and history on these records I decided to start a series called "45's".
I am going to make recordings of these songs and put them on You Tube along with some research on the artists themselves.
The first 45 i choose was "That's When I'll Stop Loving You" by Linda Jones
The second 45 i choose was "In The Morning" by The Mighty Marvelows

Lockaret has always had an extreme love of music. Raised on the East Cost of the United States, music played a big part of his life. While growing up in his home he would hear all types of music, however soul music dominated the soundtrack in his home. His parents were big fans of:Doo Wop, Motown sound, and R & B from all genres ... Basically if it was good music it was heard coming from the reel to reel in the living room.
As he grew older he became a huge fan of the “new” emerging regional music called hip hop … spending many nights with his ear plugged to the airwaves listening to the mix show on the various stations. This along with the dance, r&b, pop, and whatever else that sounded good where placed on tapes that he shared with friends
Until this day his love for music has never stopped and with the relative ease that it can be shared globally this site was formed.
Enjoy the mixes… if you like tell a friend!
